Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka was born in Guwahati (Assam), the land of Maa Kamakhya, and had the privilege of receiving his education and work experience all around the world. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the London School of Economics and a Masters from Lancaster University (U.K.). He also pursued Leadership certificate programs with Harvard Business School and IIM, Ahmedabad. In addition to that, he completed an L.L.B. degree from Guwahati University, Assam and was also conferred with an Honorary Doctorate from International Business School, Washington and College de Paris.
His heart has always been singing the “Think Global, Act Local” theme. Hence, he has always wanted to keep his feet rooted to his birthplace. Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka's mission is to align the Indian roots with global wings. As such, he operates his businesses out of Guwahati, Assam.
Dr. Dhanuka believes that “India’s social and economic empowerment is not a one time event, but it is a journey in itself.” Hence his sincere proposition and plea to the promising youth of this Nation is to come together in this journey and never give up on their humble roots and the constant struggles that come with a journey. Destinations are important in life, but it is the journey that shall decide on how we admire and adore the moment when we reach our destination.

The Great Great Great Grandfather and the founder of the group - Late Shri Ramji Dasji Dhanuka laid the platform of the family values. To quote Sir Isaac Newton, Dr. Dhanuka says: “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulder of giants''. The previous generations of his family have been true visionaries. He aspires each day to be worthy to step in their shoes. Learning to respect and decipher the decisions made by his predecessors and adapting the techniques and approaches to the changing times have been a key factor that drives him on a day to day basis. He believes that once we set ourselves a mark, often defined by the achievement of someone we admire and look-up to, it becomes easy to go through the daily jargon and motivate oneself towards one’s “ikigai”. Dr. Dhanuka hopes that he can always maintain the reputation set by his forefathers and leave positive examples for his children to nurture and build upon in the years to come.
Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka’s great grandfather, Shri Ganpat Raiji Dhanuka, was one of the first in North East India to have set up Oil, Rice and Flour Mills and Bread Making factories setting the stone for their formal business ventures. Over the last century, these efforts and traditions have been continued under the able leadership of his grandfather, Shri Gauri Shankar Ji Dhanuka and his father, Shri Ashok Kumarji Dhanuka. Under the leadership of his father, the group diversified into Real Estate and Hospitality Industries, including establishing the renowned Hotel Millennium in Guwahati. While continuing to support the family business verticals, Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka decided to expand the group into Green Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Personal Care business verticals and infrastructural developments. The last decade and a half has been a period of growth for the businesses under him and he hopes that it will only get more interesting and bring them new opportunities and challenges.
GRD Pharmaceuticals deals with the manufacturing and marketing of a complete range of Personal Care and Hygiene Products including Hand Sanitizers (Handuser-C), Environment Sanitizers (EnvoUser-5), Surface Sanitizers (SurfoUser-A), Liquid handwash (Handuser-G), liquid body wash, face wash, etc. Established in 2006, GRD Pharmaceuticals has been the leading choice of sanitization products in North East India. GRD Pharmaceuticals was the first company in North East India to start producing Alcohol-Based Handrubs (ABHR) under the brand name “Handuser-C”, back in 2012.

One Step Of Care is a Giant Leap for the Society
Philanthropy runs deep in the Dhanuka family veins and Dr. Ghanshyam Das Dhanuka follows in his family’s footsteps towards social welfare and elevation. His great grandfather Late Shri Ganpat Raiji Dhanuka, co-founded the (charitable) Marwari Maternity Hospital at Athgaon, Guwahati to reduce the unacceptably high Infant Mortality Rate. A series of further initiatives to enable medical and educational support followed and his family has been carrying on the traditions ever since. His passion for society surpasses his energy at business and he tries to extend his social domain towards extending healthcare and medical support to the masses, enabling education for the underprivileged, proactively supporting animal welfare and promoting the development of entrepreneurial youth in the region of North East India.
